Mastitis
Second dose since Bilby was born!
This is rather sucky:-(
At least with both of these, I recognised that’s what was happening, so I haven’t got it as badly as the first time with Puggle.
I don’t think I’ll be heading out to lunch though:-(

I have been reading Wine Blogging Wednesday posts on and off since about the third one. I have kept meaning to join in, but various things have occured so that I haven’t (usually I forget to drink the appropriate wine in a timely fashion).
But not this time!
I am determined!
The carnival is being hosted by Culinary Fool and the theme is Sparklings. We have some (always a good start), even a couple that we have been intending to drink soon. So I am going to make sure to plan a meal the weekend before the 13th that will encourage the use of one of them. Then I’ll (hopefully) manage the followup part of blogging about it… But I figure drinking the wine is always a good start:-)
Do you know how hard it is to say “Take the gherkin out of your ears!” while not giving into laughter?!
Puggle has been ordering fish and chips. Using a salada biscuit as a telephone. He’s very particular to ask for some fish (pause), and some chips (longer pause, with a nod), and a crab stick (his father always orders one).
The Loveliness of Homemade Gifts Fair is up, and this idea really took my fancy:-) I think it’s probably a little soon for Puggle, but maybe next year it might be something to consider.
If only they weren’t out of stock of this—I know a number of folks who would appreciate this:-)
I’m a big Anne fan. Here’s a site where you can explore the virtual Green Gables! Very cool:-)
We will be listening to
Folksong: Little Brown Jug
Carol: Away in a Manger
Composer: Johann Strauss Jr (Romantic)
Work: The Gypsy Baron: Overturen
Poetry: A Good Play by Robert Louis Stevenson
And looking at
Artist: John William Waterhouse (English)
Work: Penelope and Her Suitors (’Man giving flowers’ according to Puggle.)
Finally (it’s only been 12 days!) we have chosen a name for our girl. We had it down to a short list of eight (name combinations) after about a week, but it took the rest of the time to finally make a choice.
Of course, given that Puggle has been using ‘Bilby’ for so many months, I suspect that she may still be called that for some time to come:-)
Listen to a midi version here.
My wife and I lived all alone,
In a little log hut we called our own;
She loved gin and I loved rum,
I tell you we had lots of fun.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee.
‘Tis you who makes my friends and foes,
‘Tis you who makes me wear old clothes,
Here you are so near my nose,
So tip her up and down she goes.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee.
When I go toiling to my farm
I take little brown jug under my arm,
Place him under a shady tree,
Little brown jug, ’tis you and me.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee.
If I’d a cow that gave such milk,
I’d clothe her in the finest silk
I’d feed her on the choicest hay,
And milk her forty times a day.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee.
The rose is red, my nose is too
The violet’s blue and so are you;
And yet I guess, before I stop
I’d better take another drop.
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee!
Ha! Ha! Ha!
You and Me,
Little Brown Jug
Don’t I love thee.
