I had a great time at the crafting:-) I actually got some Hardanger done, which I haven’t in an age. There were people knitting, sewing jumpers, doing Afghan(?) crochet (oh my goodness, so amazing!), feltwork, hemming curtains, making invitations, sewing previously embroidered projects, stamping and writing reports:-) (have I missed any?) There was also a good number who came just for the conversation:-) The children did some cutting and sticking and weaving. Fortunately, people came in two waves… There was one point in the middle where I don’t know that much craft got done, because there just wasn’t enough room…
I have already planned to do much the same thing next month, for Christmas in July. I’m really quite tempted to make it a monthly event.
The one disappointment was the appearance of my Friands:-( I chose to make them because they’re one of my ultra-simple, very reliable recipes. I hadn’t made that size batch before, and while the batter consistency and flavour were the same… something wasn’t right! It made half again the quantity I was expecting (and it’s never before done that!), the surface texture was just wrong, and the cooked consistency didn’t allow them to turn out:-( But, as I said, the flavour was right, so even though they were significantly deformed, people ate them enthusiastically:-)
A couple of things were left behind. Most I could identify, but there was a white cloth hat that could belong to one of a couple of people.
