Week 3, Block 6, Dorothea Term
On reflection, the difficulties with our daily rhythm can probably be related to the onset of various lurgies:- ( (It was pleasing though, that for the first time Puggle was able to tell me that his ear was bothering him, rather than me having to rely on actions—no help with Bilby though:-( )
Other than the routine being off (and that impacting on our ability to get on with Mat Time), it’s been a fairly productive week. Puggle is really excited by the green cards, and is noticing words all over the place (he got rather put out that the words on all four sides of the tissue box were the same…) Even in the depths of his sickness the other night (he was not quite awake, at about 11.30… but had roused somewhat with nightmares) he started trying to sound words he could see on the boxes around him.
As a result, I’ve pulled out and started setting up the Pink cards. Although, I’m thinking (given he read through all the two letter ones as I was cutting them up) that I probably won’t set them up properly for him. I’ll go through them with him, but I’ll work on sorting out the blue ones for him to use independently.
He’s also been playing (actually, they both have) the piano a lot! He’s started asking where notes are (by letter name), and finding each example on the keyboard:-) So I need to finish those cards, too:-)
